How to sign unsigned applications for symbian phones ( s60v3 & 5 )

Are you tired of getting the “CERTIFICATE ERROR” message when installing application on your Symbian phone?

The reason is  that the application that you are trying to install “haven’t” been approved by Symbian foundation. But most of us know that most of the good freeware application haven’t been “signed” so we need to sign them ourselves. There are two ways to install the “unsigned” applications.
First is to hack your phone. That means that you need to fool the phones firmware (by editing it)  so that it allows you to install the unsigned application.
The Second way to install unsigned applications is to get the certificate files. With the certificate files you’ll need to sign the unsigned application from your computer (takes less than 10sec) and then install is as usual on your phone. No need to edit your phones firmware or any other hacks, and the best of all is that it works with all Symbian phones (S60v3  & S60v)

In order to sign your unsigned Nokia symbian applications, you need to get a certificate and sign them yourselves.
Get Your Certificate (Pre-Requisite)
  1. Goto OPDA.
  2. Register as an user.
  3. Provide your IMEI number.( if you don't know your IMEI  number,  dial *#06# in you mobile)  The certificate will be ready for download in 10 to 12 hours time.
